MCM - Machine Condition Monitoring

Company management is always looking for new solutions to reduce production costs and become more competitive on the market. Permanent Machine Condition Monitoring systems, provide continuous monitoring of assets and alert on early signs of wear of machinery and prevent unexpected machine break downs and loss of production. Machine Condition Monitoring solutions are continuously evolving, and we are very pleased to introduce you the the latest MonoDAQ EtherCAT based solution. With the New module, you can even further lower the cost of monitoring of your assets and get significantly more information important for uninterruptible production.

The new solution consists of a series of distributed EtherCAT based devices, that are powered and synchronized through Ethernet cable. Because of the ease of connectivity, the distributed nature, and very good bandwidth, you can easily build your system exactly according to your needs without blowing your budget.

MonoDAQ-E-ASI-2-T is a device with two analog sensor interface channels and one tacho channel. It converts the signal from MonoDAQ-SNS-ACC-1-10k-F sensors and sends the data over EtherCAT bus to the master PC. Up to two ACC-SNS sensors with M8 connectors can be connected. Maximum sample rate is 40 kS/s per channel. Only a single cable is needed to daisy chain multiple E-ASI-2-T devices with up to 50 m device-device distance.

Key Features:

• 40 kS/s max. sample rate per sensor, two sensors per device
• EtherCAT bus, daisy-chaining with single cable up to 50 m device-to-device
• Complete software support

Two analog channels of the device feature anti-alias filtering, A/D conversion and digital filtering. Each of the channels provides precise 5 V excitation for the sensor, which is also used as a reference for the ADC. There is no other internal reference for the ADC, therefore the module should not be used as a general analog input module.
Both sensor channels also include I2C bus pins for interfacing to the SNS-ACC-1-10k-F probe's temperature sensor and 3-axial accelerometer as well as to read the scaling info from the probe's EEPROM.

Microprocessor inside the DAQ module transmits the data samples over EtherCAT protocol into software running on a Windows PC, or alternatively to any controller running EtherCAT master on any platform.
The tacho channels is meant to be used with 1 pulse per rotation RPM sensors. The device automatically converts the signal into RPM value and transmits the RPM values over EtherCAT to the PC / controller.

MonoDAQ-SNS-ACC-1-10k-F Accelerometer NEW

MonoDAQ-SNS-ACC-1-10k-F is a vibration and temperature measurement probe. Packaged in a small aluminium housing it consists of three sensors: a) single axis accelerometer with 0-10 kHz bandwidth and analog voltage output, b) temperature sensors with I2C interface and c) low-speed triaxial accelerometer with I2C interface. The probe is rated with IP67 ingress protection and -20 to 85 degC temperature range.

Key features:

• 0-10 kHz bandwidth, 50 g range, 25 μg√Hz noise density
• Embedded temperature sensor
• Fits to MonoDAQ-E-ASI-2-T EtherCAT interface

Typical Installation:

DAQ modules are daisy chained with a standard network cable. It is recommended that the cable is shielded (SFTP, CAT5e) and has a minimum 24 AWG wire thickness. The cable must have 4 wire pairs. The maximum distance node-to-node is 50 m. MonoDAQ-E-PWIN power injector is necessary for merging the EtherCAT signal and power into a single cable.
